This new documentary takes you through the journey of Strange Advance, the iconic Canadian new wave band that rose to fame in the 1980s and then disappeared from the music scene for decades. The film explores the band’s history, influences, challenges, achievements, and their decision to reunite and go on tour in 2022.

 

Narrated by the band’s co-founder and songwriter, Drew Arnott, the documentary provides his insights, memories, and reflections on the band’s legacy and future. From their formation in the early 80s to their success on the Canadian music charts and the changes in the music industry in the early 90s that led to a 30-year break. They are now back, touring across Canada, reconnecting with their original fans, and gaining a new generations of admirers who are discovering their music for the first time.
